#11 BILLY DIXON SHOT

BILLY DIXON SHOT was named after an American scout and buffalo hunter Billy Dixon that was active in the Texas Panhandle in the late 1800’s. He became infamous during the Second Battle of Adobe Walls in 1864 when he made a shot from nearly a mile away with his 50 CAL rifle. Dixon never claimed credit for his “long shot” but with the combination in this gelding’s pedigree of race and performance he should be steady on the rein and able to go the distance, so the name BILLY DIXON SHOT is fitting.
